Engineering Beyond Standard Shapes

Some structures cannot be defined by standard assumptions.

The CanopyMarqui luxury camping tent, featured by Dlubal, presented a unique challenge with its nonagonal pyramid form and membrane system. Its geometry falls outside typical code provisions, requiring wind loads to be evaluated through simulation rather than standard tables.

This type of project highlights a key aspect of structural engineering: recognizing when a structure is no longer “typical” and requires a more refined approach.

The recognition reflects MSC’s ability to adapt analysis methods to match real structural behavior, not just predefined categories.
